How to Create a Hot Cocoa Bar
We have snow in the forecast for tomorrow, so I decided to convert my coffee bar into a hot cocoa bar and share how I did it!
I love having hot cocoa with some of our pizzelles that we love to make!
Using a few household items, I will show you how to create a hot cocoa bar!
To create the hot cocoa bar I brought out all my Rae Dunn Christmas mugs. I have been finding them all over at TJ Maxx, Marshall's & Home Goods. I recently found the Peace & Joy set! That little car mug is also Rae Dunn along with the little plates on the tray.
I also switched the mug rack to the bottom shelf & moved the tiered tray to the top shelf. I wanted to make things look a little different so I thought by moving these two pieces, I could give this cocoa bar a new look.
I brought out my Hot Cocoa Sign that I got from one of my good friends, Cindy from The Vintage Road. She has SO many goodies. This sign is hand painted on vintage shiplap. How cool is that?! As soon as I saw it this Summer, I snatched one up. I knew I wanted to create a cocoa bar & thought it would be so perfect. I think it's so whimsical & festive! It really ties this whole space together.
Now for the fixins! This is the fun part. I picked up some of my favorite hot cocoa & put it in a glass jar from IKEA.
I was looking for some mini candy canes, but I couldn't find any. I found some crushed up peppermints which works even better & I put them in a mini mason jar!
I also have some mini marshmallows in a mini mason jar! I put all my fixins on my wood slice from Harp Design Company in Waco, TX. I think it adds some rustic charm.
I may add some more fixins as we get further into the season. I'm thinking maybe some cinnamon sticks or chocolate pieces or peanut butter bits? The possibilities are endless.
My little brush tree from the Target Dollar Spot, my Mother in Law's Cardinal egg, some little gold spoons, & some festive red straws that I use to stir my hot chocolate complete my tiered tray.
I only added a few small changes, but I think it really switched up the look. You could easily use this as a coffee bar or tea bar if hot cocoa isn't your thing. I just think for the upcoming Holidays & parties that we're hosting, this is super cute & fun!
What do you put in your hot cocoa? I am always looking for new recipes, so send them my way!
