Church Pew Makeover
The other day, John Paul & I were out to dinner with some friends. The restaurant used church pews as their seating. I casually mentioned to one of our friends that I wanted a pew for our house & he said he knew someone with extra pews! Say what?!
Fast forward a couple days later & we brought this church pew into our home!! This thing is pretty gigantic, but I love it in our entry way.
I gave the church pew a makeover!
Here is a photo of what it looked like before any paint. Crazy what a little can of paint can do.
I used Rustoleum Chalk Paint in Linen White. I painted right over that cushion too.
On the cushion, I first used some spray paint primer called Zinsser Bulls Eye 123.
I used 2 coats of chalk paint over the entire piece, including the cushion. I did not distress this piece because I really liked the fresh white look.
I may one day rough it up with some sand paper. I also did not wax this piece because I figure we won't really use it for sitting as I plan to use it more as decor. If I feel that it needs some wax, I can always add some later on.
What do you think of our new pew?! I love making something old, look brand new!
